Almet's focus is fabricating structural steel. The company
gained experience with simple steel structures such as office
buildings, schools, and retail stores. Throughout the years,
as Almet's expertise grew, so did the scope of and complexity
of it's projects. In 1988, the company provided the
structural steel framework for the Allen County War Memorial
Coliseum expansion and the Exposition Center. In 1995 it
completed the structure for the Purdue Bell Tower at Purdue
University's main campus in West Lafayette. Other notable
projects include the Lutheran and Dupont hospitals, the
Norwest Bank Building, the Notre Dame natatorium, and the
General Motors plant in Roanoke. Almet also provides custom
fabrications for a wide variety of industrial customers.
